Michelle Taylor, LPCC 5004
I know the importance of finding the right mental health therapist. Just like you are doing, I make sure to do my own research before searching for my own therapist. It’s important to make sure it’s a good fit. So, here’s a little about me so you can see if I would be able to help you.
My clients have always loved that I am a straight-forward and direct therapist. I don’t like to waste your time or money, and we begin therapy with a direct approach. Often, we will evaluate your treatment goals, reassess what you need to accomplish and what you want to accomplish, and get the results you are looking for in a timely manner. Then again, I also tailor your therapy to fit your needs. If you need to go slowly, we will. If you want solution/goal oriented therapy, we do that.
I enjoy using humor and metaphors in therapy as well. Sometimes, even when life hands you lemons, you have to just tilt your head back, laugh, and get back on track.
Specialties
There is nobody else in the world like you. You are special, and deserve individualized treatment. I can help you find the fit for you, whether it’s with me or if I can help you find another resource you need. I am here to help! I love all the therapists I refer, especially the Perfectly Imperfectly Therapists.
I’d rather you get the help you need than try to do it on your own. So call or email me and I’ll help you find the right place for you. My passion is to help everyone get the mental health care they deserve.
ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, AND SELF ESTEEM: I specialize as a therapist that helps individuals with anxiety, depression, and self esteem using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I have been working with hundreds of clients, ranging from relationship issues, chronic pain, PTSD, abuse, LGBTQIA issues, personality disorders, and of course, anxiety and depression. Using Cognitive Behavioral techniques, you can learn to shift the way you think, feel and behave, Brene Brown techniques to address vulnerability, imperfection, and shame, and psychodynamic training to help the client feel heard and understood in order for them to do the work to feel better.
COUPLES COUNSELING: I also specialize working with couples that are stuck in the same unhealthy communication patterns. I use Gottman techniques to help bridge life goals, untangle bad communication patterns, and create new love and connection through repair. No matter what, in this relationship or the next, you will have to fix these bad communication habits. You might as well start now!
GROUP COUNSELING: I love being a group therapist! I was a teacher for 15 years, and group therapy feels a lot like the energy and dynamics that are found in a classroom. I try to run groups that are full of respectful, safe and supportive members. Therefore, I do a thorough consultation to make sure you would be a good fit for the group.
Groups available starting in January 2020:
- 10 Weeks to Self Esteem and Confidence
